Europe has always been a great adventure for Americans. Benjamin Franklin found intrigue in Paris; Henry James probed Victorian minds in London, Miles Davis was lionized in Montreaux.
To be in Europe is to step into history that stretches beyond the mists of myth. Morning still dawns on the Parthenon of Pericles, the Forom Caesar and the Alhambra of Al Ahmar, each a gateway to the past. And every country has many such gateways.
At the same time, Europe is building bridges to the future.
