Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
finalized an agreement with Northwest Airlines, making this the fifth
major air carrier to offer non-stop service from eight major U.S. cities
into Jackson Hole for the 2002-2003 season. Additionally, Jackson Hole
Mountain Resort continues its growth spurt with expanded lodging
facilities including the Teton Mountain Lodge, the completion of Avanyu
Spa and Health Club, and upgrades and transformations of several existing
lodging and base area facilities.
Northwest Airlines will fly a daily non-stop 124-passenger Airbus 319
from St. Paul, Minneapolis to Jackson Hole. The Northwest arrangement will
also include the first one-stop service from Europe to Jackson Hole. In
addition to the new flights offered by Northwest Airlines, Continental,
Delta, United, and American Airlines have also recently announced new
flights into Jackson Hole. Continental Airlines now offers daily service
from Houston, and weekend service from Newark. Delta Airlines has
announced new twice-daily flights from Salt Lake City, and non-stop
weekend service from Atlanta. American Airlines is offering daily flights
from Chicago and weekend service from Dallas, and United Airlines is
offering daily jets from Denver.
In addition to adding new air services, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
continues to expand lodging facilities and services by adding several new
properties to Teton Village. Four Seasons Resorts has selected Jackson
Hole as the first Four Seasons ski resort destination. This 125-room hotel
will include a private health club and spa, a pool, two restaurants, and
8,000 square feet of meeting space. Four Seasons is also building a
40-unit Residence Club, and 17 slope-side penthouse suites — scheduled
to open Summer, 2003.
Teton Mountain Lodge, a 129-unit condominium, is opening Fall, 2002,
and will offer two- or three-bedroom suites, studio units, and traditional
hotel rooms. The Lodge will also include spa services, a fitness center,
2,200 square-feet of meeting space, and a full-service restaurant and bar.
Formerly know as Crystal Springs Inn, Crystal Springs Lodge will offer 18
one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominiums. The Snake River Lodge and Spa
has completed its 17,000-square foot Avanyu Spa and Health Club that
includes fitness equipment, men’s and ladies spa floors and also
full-service spa treatments. It is part of a $18 million renovation
to this only full-service slopeside resort hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Two base area hotels, Best Western Inn and The Alpenhof recently
underwent a remodeling transformation. The Best Western Inn has newly
remodeled rooms, and upgraded conference facilities. Additionally, the Inn
recently added a bar and restaurant called Vertical. The Alpenhof has
received interior and exterior upgrades including the lobbies and rooms,
and newly-added decks to the restaurants.
Several of the attractions, facilities, and services of Jackson Hole
Mountain Resort have remained the same as to maintain its distinct rugged
character of an adventurous outdoors destination. Named Top Family
Resort by Family Fun Magazine in the Rockies, the Kids Ranch,
offering daycare and ski and snowboard lessons, and Team Extreme, which is
a ski and snowboard camp for kids 12 years and older, will continue with
their award-winning programs.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will continue to offer its wide range of
ski and snowboard camps including Steep and Deep Camps, Freeride Camp,
Women’s Camp, Backcountry Camp and a variety of other camps. The Resort
also offers private, group, beginner to advanced ski and snowboard
instruction at the Resort’s Ski and Snowboard School.
