Prague, Vienna, & Budapest Tour!

 

Tom and Debbie Johnson who run Good Sports International Slovakia, an organization set up to reach out to the people of Slovakia, especially the youth, by establishing youth centers from which a variety of activities are offered and young people become trained to be leaders decided they wanted to give people the opportunity to get involved with their wonderful ministry. Tom, a former professional pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, who uses his talents to reach out to the children of Slovakia through the avenue of sports, especially baseball, is involved with the "Traveling with a Purpose" program by making friends aware of an exciting  tour to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest combined with a few days of service at his youth camp in Bratislava June 27th-July 6th!

There two available options for you to choose from for this wonderful trip depending your needs and interests.

  1. [Option 1-Click Here]- Attend the youth camp in Bratislava, Slovakia for only a few days to get an understanding of how the camp is run and to encourage and pray for those who are serving diligently for Good Sports International Slovakia.  Follow up your visit at the sports camp with a relaxing 8 day tour of Prague, Vienna, and Budapest! This option is set up for those who want to visit the camp, but only to give support in prayers, encouragement, etc.

  2. [Option 2-Click Here]- This option is set up for those who want to get more involved with the baseball camp by filling in any position that they have available from 2-9 days.  There is also an available tour extension for those who are interested in traveling Europe when they are there.

OPTION 1:

Missions Project: Bratislava Sports Camp- July 3rd-July 6th, 2008

Europe Tour : Prague, Vienna, Budapest- July 6th-15July, 2008

 

Sports Camp Itinerary:

Day 1-Travel to Bratislava, Ukraine July 2nd
Day 2-Arrival day and introduction July 3rd
Day 3- Tour of camp July 4th
Day 4- Volunteer and encourage July 5th
Day 5-Prayer time/pack-up and depart to Munich July 6th

Day 1 Sun. BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT

Day 2 Mon. ARRIVAL IN MUNICH, GERMANY

"Munich, Germany's Secret Capital"

Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Tonight, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers.

 

Day 3 Tue.MUNICH AREA-NUREMBERG-PRAGUE, CZECH REP.

Drive this morning on the autobahn directly to Nuremberg for a visit. Next, east across the border into the Czech Republic. Evening arrival in Prague. (B,D)

Day 4 Wed. PRAGUE

The wealth of gothic and baroque architecture perhaps inspired Dvorak and Smetana, both Prague composers. The included guided sightseeing features landmarks such as the National Theater, Belvedere, Charles Bridge, and the old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock.

 

Day 5 Thu. PRAGUE-VIENNA, AUSTRIA

This morning motor from Bohemia into Moravia and continue southwest for a few more miles before crossing into Austria. Arrive in Vienna to enjoy an afternoon of optional sightseeing. Start with a tour featuring the State Opera, Parliament, and the Town Hall. Stop for a stroll in Heroes’ Square to view the Hofburg. Finally, an inside visit of St. Stephen’s Cathedral

. Reserve some energy for an exciting evening optional excursion. (B)

 

Day 6 Fri. VIENNA-BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

A morning to see some unexplored corner of this intriguing capital or maybe just to do some shopping down the Kärntner Strasse. In the afternoon head for the Hungarian border and, by way of Györ, you’ll reach Budapest for two overnights. (B)

Day 7 Sat. BUDAPEST

Buda Castle dominates the twin cities of Buda and Pest, separated by the broad ribbon of the Danube. Heroes’ Square typifies the modern capital, while along the riverbank you find the old inns and wine cellars. Included sightseeing takes in the Parliament building, Margaret Island, Fishermen’s Bastion, the Royal Castle, and Matthias Coronation Church. (B)

 

Day 8 Sun. BUDAPEST-SALZBURG, AUSTRIA

Mid-morning departure from Budapest. Travel westwards across the border into Austria to enjoy more Alpine scenery before heading towards the Danube and finally to the Salzburg area for an overnight. (B,D)

Day 9 Mon. SALZBURG AREA-MUNICH AREA, GERMANY

A comfortable and relatively short drive past Lake Chiemsee to the Munich area for an overnight. (B)

 

Day 10 Tue. YOUR HOMEBOUND FLIGHT ARRIVES THE SAME DAY. (B)
