A
Wide World of Travel offers on our site First, all travel offers are subject to availability. The
plane may be full, the hotel may be full. In addition, special offers are
further restricted to a certain percentage or number at this price. So,
although there may be seats on the plane, the 21-day or 14-day advance
purchase seats may be sold out.
Offers are usually good only for a certain period of time. They may
require booking by a certain time, although travel may commence later. The
lowest prices may be only for certain days or times of day. For example,
midweek departures are less popular than Friday and weekend departures, so
midweek may be on special. In addition, there may be "blackout
periods" such as holidays and spring break time.
In addition, the provider may find it necessary to change the details
of the offer, so they always allow themselves this option. This is the
"subject to change without notice" note you will see in most
offers.
A number of taxes and fees are not included in some packages,
especially cruise packages. Examples are port charges and fees. This may
be worded "taxes and fees additional." Many vacation packages do
include all fees and even transportation to and from the airport at the
destination, so make sure you understand what the total price will be
before you agree to purchase.
The assumption that is made for most travel packages is that the
accommodations will be occupied by two people. The price is quoted
"per person, double occupancy." We often make the shortcut
"pp" which means "per person" and implies double occupancy. If
you're traveling alone, you will pay the "single supplement."
For a cruise or a land package, air may or may not be included. Make
sure you understand what is included in the price and how much more you
will have to pay for the extras. The "cruise-only" or "air
additional" price is especially useful if you have frequent flyer
miles that you'd like to use.
Sometimes breakfast is included in a hotel or resort price. This can
save considerable money, as well as being very convenient. You may want to
inquire if the rooms have a small refrigerator or a kitchenette if you
like to have snacks or meals in the room.
Transportation from the airport to your final destination can be
expensive. If it is included you should receive transportation vouchers
with your documents. If it is not included, before you depart, make sure
you know what options exist and how much they cost.
Although it may seem like a difficult game to win, it isn't a scam.
Advance purchase prices are relatively easy to come by unless you need to
travel at particularly busy times. Last minute prices can be very
restricted in availability, because in this case the suppliers are trying
to sell you those last remaining slots. You can win big if you can move
fast and are flexible in timing.
A Wide World of Travel, a travel agency, is acting as an agent for
suppliers in selling travel-related services or in accepting reservations
or bookings for services that are not directly supplied by this travel
agency (such as air and ground transportation).
It is your responsibility to comply with requirements such as proof of
citizenship for travel to foreign countries. Boarding will be denied if
you do not have proper verification of citizenship.
