Day 1 Depart USA Your journey along the Reformation Trail begins as you depart the United States on your flight to Europe. |

Day 2 Arrive in Europe You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight. |

Day 3 Eisenach and Erfurt Today you’ll travel the Reformation Trail and learn about the man some credit with changing history. Martin Luther lived in Eisenach during his student days. Learn about Luther’s life and the Reformation at the Luther House (museum). Here you will also tour the famous Wartburg Castle where, in 1521, Luther translated the New Testament into German. View the room where, in just 11 weeks, Luther completed his translation. In nearby Erfurt you will enjoy a city tour and learn why this place was called the “city of spires” in Luther’s day. Visit the Augustinian Monastery where in 1507 Luther was ordained into the priesthood. |

Day 4 Leipzig and Eisleben The Reformation Trail leads you to Leipzig. You’ll visit St. Thomas Church where Luther preached and Bach served as cantor and choir director. It contains a large stained glass window depicting Luther with his translation of the Bible. Explore more of Luther’s life in Eisleben, Luther’s birth place and also the place of his death. Visit St. Petri (St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church) where Luther was baptized and also see his parents’ and wife’s portraits. Tour this charming town, including the Luther Family Home, as well as the house Luther was visiting at the time of his death. Walk the medieval cobblestone streets past St. Andrew’s where Luther preached his last sermon. |

Day 5 Wittenberg Travel the Reformation Trail to the historic town Wittenberg where Luther lived and taught for 36 years. You’ll see where Luther posted his 95 Theses on the Palace Church door, giving voice to the Reformation. This beautiful Schlosskirche is the burial site of Luther. If renovations allow, you will visit The Luther Halle, a former monastery, where Martin lived with his family. |

Day 6 Coburg and Nuremberg Back on the Reformation Trail, you’ll visit the 900 year old fortress of Coburg known as the Veste. Luther lived for a time behind its triple ramparts. The Old City of Nuremberg, once completely ringed by a heavy wall, was home to the famous Meistersingers, great painters, crafters and artisans. You can enjoy a bit of old Nuremberg if you taste some of her famous “ginger bread”. Before WWII, Nuremberg was known as the perfect medieval town. Since the war, much of the city’s character has been lovingly restored. You’ll visit the Reistag Museum which houses the Documentation Centre Nazi Party Rally Grounds Exhibition. |

Day 7 Romantic Road and Augsburg Your journey along the Reformation Trail leads to Augsburg. Founded in 15 BC by the Roman Emperor Augustus, Augsburg is one of the oldest towns in Germany. In 1518, Luther sought sanctuary in the Carmelite monastery of St. Anne’s Church which, since the Reformation, has been Protestant. In 1530, the Protestant confession of faith was publicly proclaimed for the first time at Augsburg. Travel the famed Romantic Road and discover towns like Dinkelsbuhl and Noerdinlingen... towns which seem to have drifted off to sleep in the middle ages. |

Day 8 Zurich Today, the Reformation Trail leads to Zurich, one of Europe’s most elegant cities. A lesser known Reformation leader, Ulrich Zwingli, known for his views against church rituals, established his headquarters here. You’ll visit the Grossmunster, Zurich’s huge Protestant Cathedral. You’ll also view the facade of the Fraumunster, Zurich’s Catholic Cathedral. |

Day 9 Geneva Your Reformation Trail journey leads to Geneva, cultural and artistic heart of Switzerland. During the Reformation, John Calvin established his “City of God” in Geneva. Along with Reformation Monument and other sights, you’ll visit the World Council of Churches, see the UN Palace and St. Pierre’s Cathedral. |

Day 10 Bern The Reformation Trail leads you through scenic valleys and mountains via Bern with its ancient arcaded streets and flower-decked fountains. |

Day 11 Heidelberg and Worms Explore the ancient city of Worms site of the famous Diet of Worms during which Luther refuse to back down from his criticism of the church. You’ll view the Reformation Monument. In Heidelberg, view the lightning-struck Castle and explore the charming Old Town complete with cobblestone lanes and medieval atmosphere. |

Day 12 Return to USA This morning you will say good-bye to the Reformation Trail. You’ll be leaving with a lifetime of memories and an array of new knowledge |
